Police Investigate Fire at Kramat Jati Central Market
JAKARTA - The President Director of Perumda Pasar Jaya, Agus Himawan, explained that the fire that hit the Kramat Jati Central Market occurred in the fruit stall located in Block C. Based on data owned by Pasar Jaya, the number of stalls that were burned by the fire was confirmed to be 354 stalls.
"A total of 354 lots were burned. Thank God there were no casualties," Agus told reporters, Monday, December 15.
Agus said the cause of the fire was still under investigation by the Kramat Jati Police. He also could not conclude the total losses from the massive fire.
"The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the police. The losses are being inventoried," he said.
Currently, the fire has been extinguished and the activity of the market is normal.

Previously reported, nearly 400 fruit traders who were at the Kramat Jati Central Market, East Jakarta, were found to have been burned by fire on Monday, December 15, morning.
This fire is suspected to have been triggered by a short circuit from a cable that was loose.
