Verstek, Raisa and Hamish Daud Divorce Trial Decided Today

JAKARTA - The divorce process of singer Raisa Andriana and Hamish Daud has entered the final phase. The trial held at the South Jakarta Religious Court today scheduled the submission of additional evidence as well as the conclusion from the plaintiffs. However, the final verdict was scheduled to come out today as well.

Raisa's lawyer, Putra Lubis, explained that the panel of judges decided to accelerate the agenda.

After the submission of additional evidence was considered sufficient, the panel of judges informed that the verdict would be issued soon. Since there was no direct reading of the verdict in the courtroom, the final result will be uploaded through an electronic system.

"Insyaallah today. Later the verdict will be uploaded, because we are suing through e-court, so it will be uploaded," said Putra Lubis at the South Jakarta Religious Court after the trial, Monday, December 15.

The e-court system allows parties to not have to be physically present during the reading of the verdict. This is considered more efficient, given that both parties, both Raisa and Hamish, have quite a busy schedule. The legal team now only has to wait for the official notification from the court.

Regarding Hamish Daud's absence during the trial process, Putra Lubis provided an explanation regarding the status of the verdict. Given that the defendant never attended the court hearing, it is likely that the panel of judges will issue a verdict in absentia.

"Yes, if the defendant does not attend, the verdict will be verstek," explained Putra.
