JAKARTA - The Agam Regency Government (Pemkab) in West Sumatra (Sumbar) has provided two locations for the construction of temporary housing for victims of hydrometeorological floods in Palembayan District.
Camat Palembayan Sabirun said the two locations provided were at the football field of SDN 05 Kayu Pasak with an area of about one hectare and the Fish Seed Hall in Gumarang with an area of two hectares.
"The two locations provided are government-owned land," he said in Lubuk Basung, Sunday, quoted by Antara.
He said that the temporary residence was intended for the victims' houses that were severely damaged and the location of the red zone or along the Batang Nanggang River.
The temporary housing is for residents in Salareh Aia, Salareh Aia Timur and Tigo Koto Silungkang.
"Temporary housing will be built in the next few days by the TNI. The building materials for temporary housing will arrive on Monday (December 14)," he said.
He admitted that currently there are around 780 people displaced to SDN 05 Kayu Pasak, Taqwa Mosque, Tuanku Ibadai Mosque and family houses, after their houses were damaged and there was fear.
"For those houses that are not damaged, when it is sunny he returns home and when it rains he goes to his family's house," he said.

Meanwhile, Agam Regent Benni Warlis said that the construction of temporary housing during this emergency response period would be realized immediately with BNPB.
The key is the readiness of the community whose houses are severely damaged.
"We will prepare temporary housing, but they must declare their willingness to inhabit the temporary housing," he said.
He appealed to the public whose houses were severely damaged to immediately report their willingness to occupy temporary housing.
"This is for the acceleration of post-disaster handling and recovery," he said.
