Russian Space Agency Invites NASA To Discuss Space Cooperation
JAKARTA - Roscosmos as the Russian space agency is rumored to have invited the new head of NASA, Bill Nelson. The invitation was intended to establish Roscosmos' cooperation with the American space agency, NASA.
According to a Sputnik News report, Roscosmos chief Dmitry Rogozin has invited NASA chief Bill Nelson to come to Russia to discuss space cooperation.
"The new head of NASA, Mr. Nelson, is a respected and admired specialist. I would love to meet him," Rogozin said.
Roscosmos is ready to discuss with nasa chiefs to discuss space cooperation.
"We have invited him to Russia and are ready to discuss openly and constructively on the issues of our cooperation in space," Rogozin added in a Twitter post.
The invitation from Roscosmos came after Nelson appeared on a virtual event the previous day, at which time Nelson stated that he would speak to roscosmos's head as soon as possible despite U.S. sanctions.
Bill Nelson was appointed head of NASA last May at the senate's choice. Before taking office as head of NASA, Nelson was a member of the U.S. Senate.
Nelson was one of the congressmen who went into space in 1986. At the time, he was a payload specialist for the Space Shuttle Columbia.
