Response to the Proposal for the Transjabodetabek Route to Ciawi, Pramono: Hopefully You Won't Be Asked to Go to Bandung
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung responded to the proposal for the DKI Provincial Government to add the Transjabodetabek route from Jakarta to Ciawi, Bogor. This proposal was submitted by Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim.
As if he had not decided to approve the proposal, Pramono responded jokingly. He hopes that the proposal for the expansion of Transjabodetabek will not develop until the route to Bandung.
"Regarding TransJakarta, it is asked to go to Ciawi, yes, hopefully it is not asked to go to Bandung," said Pramono to reporters, Sunday, December 14.
In the Coordination Meeting for Integrated and Integrated Transportation at the Grand Hall, DKI Jakarta Provincial City Hall, Wednesday, October 29, Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim proposed the addition of two new corridors for the Transjabodetabek service to reach the Ciawi and Bubulak areas.
Dedie said that Bogor City was one of the areas that received attention because of the high mobility of its residents to Jakarta every day.
Currently, the DKI Provincial Government is only operating six Transjabodetabek routes, namely Alam Sutera-Block M, PIK2-Block M, Bogor-Block M, Sawangan-Lebak Bulus, Vida Bekasi-Cawang, and Bekasi-Dukuh Atas.
Dedie said that the Bogor-Blok M route was quite popular with residents. The number of daily users on the route has reached around 6,000 passengers per day. On this basis, he proposed the addition of two new corridors, namely Ciawi-SCBD or Semanggi, and Bubulak-Sudirman.
Dedie assessed that the improvement of public transportation services is not only about adding routes, but also concerns the quality of service. He said, public transportation must be able to provide comfort, punctuality, and adequate capacity for users.
Dedie also touched on the development of transportation infrastructure in the Jabodetabek area, which he considered to be at a world-class level. According to him, a number of modes such as LRT, MRT, fast trains, Transjakarta, and Jaklingko are important capital to build an integrated transportation system.
"Bogor City must be able to equalize itself with its immediate neighbors. We cannot sit on our hands waiting for a windfall, but must strive to equalize the quality of public transportation in Jabodetabek which is increasingly advanced and modern," he said.
In addition to the addition of the Transjabodetabek corridor, Dedie also raised the issue of developing a park and ride system as one of the solutions to reduce congestion in the city center. He said, the Bogor City Government has offered a number of locations that are considered strategic to be developed into an integrated park and ride area.
"In addition, we also discussed the park and ride that we offer at the Bubulak Terminal, Plaza Bogor, and Baranangsiang. So this issue must be ensured that there is a short-term, medium-term, and long-term solution," he added.
