Arteta admits Arsenal's poor form despite winning 2-1 over Wolves
JAKARTA - Arsenal secured 3 points with difficulty against the bottom dwellers, Wolves. Mikel Arteta admitted that his team performed disappointingly.
The Spanish coach said their performance was poor in the first half of the 16th English League match at the Emirates Stadium, London, Saturday local time.
Quoted from the club's official website, Sunday, Arteta explained that Declan Rice did not perform as he should in the first half and fortunately Arsenal was able to rise in the second half.
Although Arsenal performed better in the second half, Arteta highlighted the defense line which had a goal from Wolves player Tolu Akorodare before the Gunners could win the match.
"Their first chance to do so, they managed to score, and this is the Premier League, unfortunately. We are relieved that we managed to score at the end of the game and win it, but we need to improve in that regard," said Arteta as quoted by ANTARA, December 14.
In this match, Arsenal managed to pack a victory with a score of 2-1 thanks to two own goals from Wolves players Sam Johnstone and Yerson Mosquera.

This victory makes Arsenal still solid in the first position in the English League standings with 36 points from 16 matches, five points ahead of Manchester City in second place who have only played 15 matches.
Arteta hopes this difficult victory can be a lesson for Arsenal to be able to perform more effectively and take advantage of the opportunities they get.
"Learn from this mistake, then continue, and every time you win in the Premier League, you have to be happy. You have to realize the difficulty, but we made it even more difficult for ourselves today and that's a big lesson we have to take," Arteta explained.
"When the opponent deserves something, it's not a problem and they do a lot of things to make it difficult for us, but it's one of those things that, I don't know, we have to make sure we fix," the Spanish coach concluded.
