Chelsea 2-0 Everton: Chelsea retain fourth place in the table

Chelsea won a convincing 2-0 victory over Everton in the 16th week of the 2025/26 English League at Stamford Bridge, Saturday.

The Blues' two goals came in the first half through Cole Palmer and Malo Gusto.

This additional three points keeps Chelsea in fourth place in the standings with 28 points.

Meanwhile, Everton is still stuck in eighth place with 24 points from 16 matches, as reported by the official website of the English Premier League.

From the first minute, Chelsea immediately took the initiative of the game with high tempo and pressure from both wings. This pattern made Everton more defensive and difficult to develop the game.

The opening goal came in the 21st minute. Cole Palmer successfully maximized Malo Gusto's pass with a calm finish inside the penalty box to give Chelsea a 1-0 lead.

Chelsea almost doubled the lead shortly afterwards. Alejandro Garnacho pounced on a rebound in front of the Everton goal, but his shot still missed the target.

Towards the break, Chelsea added another goal. This time, Malo Gusto recorded his name on the scoreboard after receiving a mature pass from Pedro Neto, and closed the first half with a 2-0 lead.

Everton tried to bounce back in the second half by appearing more aggressive. However, Chelsea's disciplined defense made it difficult for the visiting team to penetrate the penalty box.

Alejandro Garnacho again got two golden opportunities at the beginning of the second half, but was not able to increase the home team's advantage.

Everton threatened through Jack Grealish's header and Iliman Ndiaye's long-range shot, but Robert Sanchez was solid under the bar, even one Everton opportunity hit the crossbar.

Until the final whistle, the score remained 2-0. Chelsea secured three points at home.
