MMSGI and the Life After Mine Foundation Distribute 8 Tons of Logistics and ERT Teams for Victims of the Recent Floods in Sumatra
JAKARTA - MMSGI through its subsidiary PT Multi Harapan Utama (MHU) has reaffirmed its commitment to rapid disaster response by providing logistical assistance and deploying an Emergency Response Team (ERT) to assist victims of flash floods that hit a number of areas in Sumatra, including Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
The flash flood and landslide disaster that occurred at the end of November 2025 had a major impact on thousands of residents in various areas, including Aceh Tamiang, Tapanuli Tengah, and South Tapanuli who had to evacuate, lose their homes, and face limitations on access to basic needs. In response to this situation, MMSGI moved quickly to ensure that assistance could be distributed in a measurable and targeted manner.
MMSGI, through MHU, which collaborates with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, distributes basic necessities such as food, drinking water, and other essential needs. This assistance is also strengthened by donations from PT Agro City Kaltim (ACK) which cooperates with the Ministry of Environment to reach the Aceh Tamiang area.
If combined from all donation lists received at the Halim Transit Warehouse on December 10, 2025, the total logistics assistance distributed reached more than 8 tons. The assistance includes rice, instant noodles, mineral water, cooking oil, sardines, sugar, biscuits, tea, instant noodles, super porridge, instant drinks, to sanitary napkins.
All of these donations were coordinated with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and were handed over through a loading point at Halim Perdanakusuma Airfield, on Monday, December 8, in Jakarta, before being flown to the affected areas.
As an additional form of concern beyond logistical assistance, MMSGI together with employees and the Life After Mine Foundation (LINE) also raised cash donations that were successfully collected in a short time of Rp. 218,800,000. All cash donations will be used to meet the urgent needs of flood-affected residents directly through coordination with related ministries, so that distribution can take place quickly, accurately, and measured.
In addition to sending logistical assistance, MHU also sent a team of six Emergency Response Team (ERT) to help the process of handling disasters in Central Tapanuli and South Tapanuli for six days. The MHU ERT team carried out various crucial activities including distributing logistics to residents' homes and evacuation posts, screening victims in river areas, trauma healing for children at the Sopo Daganak Post, and health services for dozens of residents in Batuhula Village, Tamansari, and Garoga, Batangtoru District.
The presence of the ERT MHU team helps accelerate the initial recovery of residents as well as supporting the government's efforts to stabilize post-disaster conditions.
MMSGI CEO, Sendy Greti, emphasized that the assistance provided was not only in the form of logistics, but also the company's commitment to be present quickly and measurably in the midst of an emergency situation.
"The flood disaster in Sumatra left a heavy impact on thousands of families. We at MMSGI believe that a quick response is an important part of our contribution to the community. The assistance provided - both in terms of logistics and support for the ERT team - is expected to be able to respond to the urgent needs of the community in a targeted manner," he said.
Meanwhile, the Director of PT MHU, Kemal Djamil Siregar, also emphasized the importance of preparedness in helping to handle disasters in Indonesia.
"MHU routinely prepares an ERT team to respond to disasters in various areas. In the case of the Sumatra flash flood, our team moved quickly to help evacuate, distribute aid, and provide psychosocial and health support. This is our commitment to always be ready to be present in the community when needed," he explained.
Through a coordinated step between donations, operational support, cooperation with ministries and BNPB, as well as the direct presence of the ERT team, MMSGI shows consistency in helping the recovery of disaster-affected communities. A quick, collaborative, and scalable approach is part of the company's efforts to ensure that disaster management is effective and provides real benefits for citizens in need.
This quick response reflects MMSGI's commitment to making a real contribution to the national emergency situation. By prioritizing the vision of Empowering the Future, MMSGI strives to empower the future of the Indonesian people in this case through targeted, quick, and relevant assistance steps to the needs in the field.
Through coordination with government agencies and the support of a team of trained volunteers, MMSGI hopes that this assistance can help accelerate the physical and mental recovery of affected residents and provide new hope for communities in disaster areas.
