Amorim Still Not Sure of Availability of Mbeumo, Amad Diallo, and Mazraoui Against Bournemouth
JAKARTA - Ruben Amorim revealed that he still does not know whether Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo, and Noussair Mazraoui will be available to face Bournemouth on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, early morning WIB.
The three players are scheduled to depart for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations later this month.
Amorim said the club was still in negotiations with the Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Morocco Football Federations about when they should be released.
He hopes to get a final decision by Saturday, December 13, 2025.
FIFA has issued a statement confirming that players must be released at least a week before their respective countries' first matches in the tournament - which begins with Morocco against Comoros on December 21, 2025.
Cameroon, who are boosted by Mbeumo and Ivory Coast, who are boosted by Amad, begin their campaigns on December 24, 2025.
"We are still discussing with the national team. Monday's match (local time against Borunemouth), they are here, they are training. We are trying to prepare for all scenarios for the match."
"It's frustrating, but at the same time nobody knows who is going to play. So, I think it's a good thing."
"So we have players to overcome everything. With a long week, you can see a lot of things and work on some things to prepare for any match and situation," Amorim said in a press conference on Friday, December 12, 2025, local time.
Manchester United are confirmed to be without defender Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt against Bournemouth.
Benjamin Sesko, who has missed the last four games with a knee injury, may return. However, Amorim revealed that the striker is suffering from an illness that is interfering with his recovery.
"Maguire is out, De Ligt is out, Ben, we have to see. We have to see if he is available. He had food poisoning, but let's wait. We still have two training sessions (before the match)," said Amorim.
