Mohamed Salah Will Return to Liverpool Squad Against Brighton?

JAKARTA - Mohamed Salah is reportedly set to enter the Liverpool squad for the English League match on Saturday, December 13, 2025, against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Salah was left out of the match squad for Liverpool's Champions League win over Inter Milan in midweek following his controversial interview after the 3-3 draw against Leeds United last weekend.

The 33-year-old, who was dropped for a third successive game against Leeds, claimed he had been betrayed by the club and that his relationship with Liverpool's manager Arne Slot had deteriorated.

However, according to ESPN reports, Salah will be part of the squad this weekend after a conversation with Arne Slot on Friday, December 12, 2025, with the move considered to be in the interests of all parties.

Salah will then head to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to defend Egypt and his future will be discussed further in the coming weeks.

The Egyptian hinted last weekend that the match against Brighton could be his last for Liverpool, with the striker leaving the club to defend his country on December 15, 2025.

He has long been a target of Saudi clubs and could leave the club in January 2026 if an agreement is not reached with Arne Slot and Liverpool management.

However, the Dutch coach confirmed on Friday, December 12, 2025 that he had no reason to allow Salah to leave.

Arne Slot also stressed that the decision on whether Salah will rejoin the squad is entirely up to him.

"We have spoken a lot in the last week. After the game against Sunderland, there were many conversations between his representatives and our representatives, between him and me, and today I will speak to him again."

"I think we as a club have decided - and I was part of that decision - not to bring him to Inter Milan."

"I'm always in touch with (sporting director Richard Hughes and Fenway Sports Group football chief Michael Edwards), but when it comes to making decisions on the make-up of the squad or squad, they always leave it up to me."

"It doesn't mean I don't speak to them, especially Richard not Michael, but I speak to him about a lot of things."

"The decision to play a player or put him in the squad - as I have experienced so far and I think this will never change - is entirely up to me," said Arne Slot.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions. However, they have only won two of their last 10 Premier League games.
