Six Police Suspects in the Pengeroyokan Matel in Kalibata to be Discussed in the Ethics of Next Week

JAKARTA - Karo Penmas of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, said that the title of the case by the National Police's Divpropam, concluded that the six police officers who had committed serious violations in the Kalibata area, Jakarta, would be tried by the National Police Code of Ethics Commission.

According to him, the National Police is also processing the six personnel for violations of the Code of Ethics of the National Police Profession, in addition to processing them criminally. He said the trial was scheduled to be held on Wednesday, December 17.

"Each member involved will be held accountable for his actions, both criminal and ethical," said Trunoyudo as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, December 13.

The investigators have named six suspects in the persecution case that led to two people dying, namely initials JLA, RGW, IAB, IAM, BN, and AM. All of them are members of the Police Headquarters Service Unit.

He said the six police officers committed a serious violation as stipulated in the Regulation of the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia (Perpol) Number 7 of 2022.

He also emphasized that the investigation of this case was carried out professionally and transparently, without discrimination even though the suspects were members of the National Police.

According to him, the police also continue to coordinate with the victim's family, the owner of the damaged facility, the local government, and community leaders to maintain a conducive situation and ensure the recovery process goes well.

"We continue to maintain security around the scene of the incident to prevent follow-up actions and ensure public safety," he said.
