Agam Needs 525 Temporary Housing for Disaster Victims

LUBUK BASUNG - The Agam Regency Government, West Sumatra, needs as many as 525 temporary housing units for victims affected by hydrometeorological floods, as their houses were severely damaged in seven sub-districts in the area.

Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Agam Rahmat Lasmono said the need for 525 temporary housing units was in accordance with the data collected in 16 sub-districts.

"From the data collection, we need 525 temporary housing units for victims of flash floods, floods and landslides spread across seven sub-districts," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, December 13.

He detailed that the 525 temporary housing units for victims of flash floods in Palembayan District were 281 units spread across Nagari or Salareh Aia Village 143 units, Salareh Aia Timur 83 units.

Then Tigo Koto Silungkang 38 units, Salareh Aia Barat two units, Sipinang three units, Ampek Koto Palembayan 12 units and Baringin one unit.

After that, in Ampek Koto District, 46 units were spread across Nagari Balingka eight units, Koto Tuo two units, Sungai Landia 33 units and Koto Panjang three units.

Meanwhile, in the Malalak District, 51 units are spread across the Nagari Malalak Timur 47 units, Malalak Utara two units and Malalak Barat two units.

Meanwhile, Matur District has 23 units spread across Nagari Panta Pauh 16 units and Matua Mudiak seven units.

For the Palupuh District, 53 units are spread across Nagari Pasia Laweh 38 units and Pagadih 15 units.

Then, Tanjung Raya District 83 units were spread in Koto Malintang Village, four units, Koto Kaciak one unit, two koto five units, Maninjau 10 units, Dalko nine units, Sungai Batang 45 units.

In Bayua one unit and Tanjung Sani eight units as well as Tanjung Mutiara District 11 units are spread across Nagari Tiku Lima Jorong 11 units.

"The 525 temporary housing units are intended for victims whose houses are severely damaged or are not likely to be inhabited by victims," he said.

The hydrometeorological disaster in Agam resulted in 192 residents dying, seven people are still being treated, and 54 people are affected or isolated.

Meanwhile, 72 victims have not been found scattered in Malalak District, three people, Tanjung Raya District, two people, Palembayan District, 66 people, and Lubuk Basung District, one person.

The victims who were displaced 5,086 people were spread across Palembayan District 1,678 people, Palupuh 128 people, Tanjung Raya 2,821 people, Ampek Koto 49 people, and Matur 350 people and Malalak 60 people.

493 units of houses were slightly damaged, 359 units of houses were moderately damaged, 806 units of houses were severely damaged, 11 units of places of worship were affected, 69 bridges were damaged and 49 roads were damaged.

After that, there were 106 units of damaged educational facilities, 125 units of damaged irrigation, 16 units of damaged dams, 5,025 dead livestock, and 1,813.70 hectares of damaged agricultural land.
