West Java Police Processes Resbob Cases Of Hina Sundanese And Viking

BANDUNG - The West Java Regional Police investigated public reports regarding allegations of hate speech by YouTuber Resbob or Adimas Firdaus, after his upload was deemed insulting to the Sundanese people and supporters of Persib Bandung.

Head of West Java Police Public Relations Division Kombes Hendra Rochmawan said investigators had analyzed the account used by the reported party and started the initial investigation stage.

"We have conducted a profiteering account against the Viking and West Java residents and have started an investigation," said Hendra in Bandung, Friday, December 12, as reported by ANTARA.

Hendra explained that this case arose after in one of the broadcasts on YouTube, Resbob made insulting remarks against Persib supporters and the Sundanese community. The broadcast then went viral and sparked public outrage.

"Receipts of police reports are needed to complete the legal process and strengthen the testimony of victim witnesses," he said.

He said investigators were still investigating the report and collecting information from related parties to carry out the investigation process against the reported party.

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of West Java Erwan also stated that such hate speech should not be tolerated because it has the potential to divide society.

"As a Sundanese, I feel very insulted and very angry. I hope the police will immediately arrest the person because this is SARA and can divide the nation," said Erwan.

He also appealed to the public not to hate certain groups due to the actions of one individual. "However, don't hold grudges against the tribe because not all are the same. Focus on these individuals," he said.

Erwan emphasized that law enforcement needs to be done to provide a deterrent effect and prevent repeated insults to the identity of any ethnicity.

"We must respect each other as fellow citizens of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.
