No Longer 'stealth', Russia Can Detect US F-22 And F-35 Fighter Jets
JAKARTA - The United States may be nervous, after fighter jets with stealth technology (stealth), the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II are said to be detected by radar.
Even more confusing for Uncle Sam, this claim was issued by the director general of a Russian government company engaged in weapons and defense.
Russia's Nebo-M radar can detect advanced aircraft, including the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II from the United States, said Almaz-Antey Director General Yan Novikov.
"The Nebo-M radar is a stealth technology threat. This radar can detect advanced aircraft, it can see the F-22, F-35 and so on very well," Almaz-Antey Director General Yan Novikov launched TASS, Wednesday, May 26.
Yan Novikov continued, Almaz-Antey, who pioneered the development of Russian air defense systems, pays serious attention to various Russian radar projects and technologies.
"The Concern produces more than 30 types of mobile multi-function radar systems," he added.
The Nebo-M and Container radars are the backbone of the total radar field along Russia's land borders. The latest radar is supplied to units deployed to the most dangerous areas.
The first series of Nebo-Ms were sent to the Western Military District in 2017. They were then sent to regiments in the Transbaikalia, Khabarovsk and Primorye regions. The radar was delivered to the Crimean air defenses in 2018.
One of the advantages of the Russian Nebo-M Mobile Radar compared to other military radars is that the Nebo-M has good and fast mobility through land and air transport.
The Nebo-M can detect aircraft and ballistic missiles at a distance of one thousand kilometers. Air and hypersonic targets were detected at 600 km, double the range of the previous generation. Stealth technology poses no problem for this new radar
In addition to the Nebo-M, the above-horizon stationary Container radar also monitors combat flights close to the Russian border. They can detect targets at a distance of 2000 kilometers.
