President Ensures Budget For Flood Victims Has Been Prepared
President Prabowo Subianto ensured that the government had prepared a budget for the construction of temporary shelters and permanent housing for victims affected by the flash flood disaster in Sumatra and Aceh, but the process still took time.
This was conveyed by Prabowo while visiting flood victims at the Al Abrar Takengon Grand Mosque Refugee Command Post, Central Aceh, Friday, December 12.
"Later there will be temporary housing, permanent housing that we have planned. We have allocated the budget, but it will take time," Prabowo said as quoted by ANTARA.
The President asked the affected communities to be more patient and ensure that the government continues to work hard in helping people through disasters.
"We ask for patience, I can't do it so quickly. We have worked as well as possible. I ask for the courage and patience of everyone. We will definitely help, don't worry," he said.
Previously, the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas, Maruarar Sirait, revealed that the construction of 2,000 houses for disaster survivors in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra Provinces was assisted by the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program or corporate social responsibility.
"I convey that later CSR-CSR will be committed to helping build 2,000 houses for victims of our brothers and sisters in Sumatra," Maruarar said at a press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday (9/12).
According to him, CSR assistance for the construction of 2,000 houses for disaster survivors in Sumatra is a form of mutual cooperation.
"This is a form of mutual cooperation, so I have received a commitment of 2,000 houses that are ready to be assisted by our brothers and sisters affected by the disaster in Sumatra," he said.
