9-Year-Old Child Broken Legs Evacuated By Indonesian Navy Helicopter In Aceh Tamiang

ACEH TAMIANG - Indonesian Navy personnel evacuated a nine-year-old child who suffered a broken leg in a flash flood in Aceh Tamiang using a Panther HS-1302 helicopter.

The victim, who is a resident of Kuala Pusung Hamlet, was evacuated last Thursday after the team received a report that the child's condition needed immediate medical treatment and the affected location was difficult to reach by land.

"The evacuation was carried out after the team received a report on the condition of the victim who needed immediate medical treatment and was difficult to reach by land," said Head of the Indonesian Navy Information Service, First Admiral TNI Tunggul when confirmed in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, December 12.

Panther helicopter was flown from KRI dr. Soeharso-990, a hospital ship that was anchoring in Aceh Tamiang waters. With air medical evacuation procedures, the team evacuated victims from the village where they lived to the hospital ship for intensive care.

Arriving at KRI dr. Soeharso-990, the medical team immediately provided initial treatment. The examination showed a fracture in the victim's leg. He is currently undergoing intensive care by the orthopedic doctor and the ship's health worker.

"The condition of the victim is reportedly stable and continues to receive monitoring from the medical team for observation," said Tunggul.
