Shin Tae-yong Highlights The Quality Of Indonesian National Team Passing, Weak Back Line, And Ineffective Counterattack
JAKARTA - Indonesia National Team Coach Shin Tae-Yong highlighted the quality of defense and passes his squad showed in a test match against Afghanistan in Dubai on Tuesday, May 25, which ended in a 3-2 victory for the opponent.
"Many shortcomings, first for the 'stopper', then the 'passing'. Overall there is still much to improve and it must be completed one by one", Shin said, quoted from PSSI's official website, Wednesday, May 26.
Between reporting, in the match against Afghanistan, the Garuda team had to be left three goals before narrowing the position. Afghanistan's first goal was even deflected early in the game, in the sixth minute.
In addition to the backline, Shin Tae-Yong also pays attention to the counterattacks of his foster children that he considers ineffective.
"We had a hard time making a good counterattack", he said.
Nevertheless, Shin Tae-Yong still appreciated the fighting spirit of Evan Dimas and his friends who were at least able to score two goals in the second half.
According to him, it shows tenacity and the players deserve thanks for that.
"I thank you for the effort", Shin said.

The test matches against Afghanistan and Oman are part of Indonesia's preparations for the final three matches of Group G of the 2022 World Cup qualification.
