Ministry Of Home Affairs: Firefighters Clean Public Facilities In Disaster Locations
JAKARTA - Director General of Regional Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs Safrizal Zakaria Ali appreciated the quick action of firefighters or firefighters who cleaned roads from mud, schools, houses of worship, and various other public facilities.
"I witnessed the actions of firefighters in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra who cleaned roads from mud, hospitals, and others. Thank you for the active participation, one proof of the state's presence at the disaster site," said Safrizal in his statement in Jakarta, Friday, December 12.
Safrizal said that one of the main tasks of the firefighters that has been understood by the community is the prevention of fires through socialization, education, and various prevention efforts to minimize the risk of fires in the community.
Handle and extinguish the fire quickly, precisely, and effectively to prevent the spread of the fire.
"Other main tasks of the fire department include saving lives, property, and evacuating fire incidents and other emergencies, including natural disasters, accidents, as well as saving animals and valuables," said Safrizal.
The former Acting Governor of South Kalimantan, Bangka Belitung, and Aceh explained that in non-disaster conditions, if a fire occurs, based on Permendagri 114 of 2018 concerning SPM Firefighters, a maximum of 15 minutes of fire response is set at the location.
Throughout 2024, there were 13,485 fire incidents that were successfully handled with a quick and coordinative approach.
