The Number Of Jakarta Voters Rose To 8.23 Million In Semester II 2025
JAKARTA - The number of voters in the Special Region of Jakarta Province will increase again in the second semester of 2025. The KPU of DKI Jakarta Province recorded a total of 8,239,242 voters, an increase from the previous semester which reached 8,171,972 voters.
The increase in the number of voters came from the entry of 267,817 new voters during the data updating process. At the same time, the KPU also recorded 202,380 voters who did not meet the requirements (TMS), the majority due to death and having moved domicile.
In addition, 186,824 voter data have improved elements such as addresses, NIK, and population status.
This semester, the KPU also released data on voters with disabilities, which reached 58,199 people, covering the physical, intellectual, mental, sensory categories, speech, and netra. This figure is the basis for the provision of more inclusive election services in the next stage.
Chairman of the DKI Jakarta KPU, Wahyu Dinata, emphasized that updating voter data is a process that involves many parties outside of election organizers.
" Accurate voter data are the result of collaboration. KPU cannot work alone. All parties have an important role in ensuring our list of voters is clean and up to date," Wahyu said in his statement, Friday, December 12.
The head of the DKI Jakarta KPU Data and Information Division, Fahmi Ziryptah, explained that the stages of updating voter data were carried out through layered scattering.
"The updating of voter data is not just a matter of numbers, but a matter of ensuring that every citizen who has the right to get space to use their voice. We carry out layered scattering, synchronization with Dukcapil, to verification of double data and anomaly data. Transparency is our main principle," he said.
Fahmi also invited residents to actively check and report data changes so that the voter list remains accurate. "The more input from the public, the better the quality of our voter list," he added.
