The Cabinet Secretariat (Setkab) of the Republic of Indonesia moved quickly to help victims of flash floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. A total of 42 Setkab employees went directly to the regions to distribute 18 tons of logistical assistance to the refugees.
The assistance distributed includes basic needs such as clothing, ready-to-eat food, blankets, sarongs, prayer mats, baby milk, medicines, sanitary napkins, and various other urgent needs.
Deputy for Human Development, Culture, and Community Empowerment of the Indonesian Cabinet Secretariat, Amperawan, who is also the Coordinator of the Setkab Humanitarian Team, emphasized that they are working with various parties.
"In addition to bringing the logistics needed by the refugees, we also participated with teams from ministries/agencies, TNI/Polri, volunteers, and the community in mutual cooperation in disaster emergency response efforts," Amperawan said, quoted from ANTARA, Friday, December 12, 2025.
Attention To Children's Psychological Health
Amperawan added that the volunteer team from the Cabinet Secretariat also brought a number of toys that were handed over directly to children in refugee camps. This shows a focus on the psychological recovery of the victims.
"We also bring toys to children who are in refugee camps. The physical health and psychological health of the refugees, especially children, are certainly a serious concern in efforts to deal with this disaster," he said.
