Indonesian Film Debut, Anggun C. Sasmi Initially Cuekin DM From Wregas Bhanuteja
JAKARTA - International diva, Anggun C. Sasmi, finally made his debut in the Indonesian feature film through "Parangsuk". However, behind his involvement, there was a funny story where he initially ignored an invitation from the director, Wregas Bhanuteja.
Anggun admitted that Wregas first contacted him via direct message (DM) on Instagram. At that time, he did not know who Wregas was.
"I didn't know at that time who Wregas was. We are also girl, so we are afraid in DM and men, I have ignored it," said Anggun in the South Jakarta area, Thursday, December 11.
After several friends told him who Wregas Bhanuteja was, then Anggun became interested. He also looked into the director's track record via the internet.
The fact that Wregas was once involved in the Cannes Film Festival was a turning point that made him happy.
"It means being contacted by someone who is actually legit," he said.
After agreeing to meet, Anggun was treated to an unusual film presentation. Wregas presented his idea using French, which immediately captivated Anggun's heart.
His decision was even more solid after he watched previous Wregas films, such as "The Copy of Light" and "Pekerti Budi". He felt that Wregas' works always left deep marks.
As his debut in Indonesian films, Anggun does not want to make the wrong choice. "I want to get a match that is really legit," he said.

After going through the PDKT process for months, Anggun was finally determined to "marry" professionally with Wregas. He felt very happy and grateful for this opportunity.
On the same occasion, Wregas shared the most unique moment of approach he might have made to Anggun C. Sasmi. Aware of Anggun's international status based in France, Wregas prepared a special strategy.
When she met in Paris, she made all her presentations in French. The goal is to win over Anggun and her husband.
"With the real hope, at that time Mbak Anggun had her husband. Hopefully her husband will also take his heart," explained Wregas.
Film Para Perasuk follows the story of Bayu (Angga Yunanda), a young man who is determined to become a reliable customer in his village, Latas.
Latas is a village on the outskirts of a small town, known for its traditional possession party, a ritual and an entertainment that has long been passed down from generation to generation.
When the holy spring where the travelers seek the spirit is facing threats, Bayu is determined to be the leader of the possession party for a large-scale fundraiser to be able to save the spring.
However, on his way, Bayu found that ambition alone was not enough to make him a true visitor, or to save the village that had been his home so far.
