Bogor Market Revitalization Becomes Key Focus of DPRD in Working Meeting with PPJ
BOGOR - Commission II of the Bogor City DPRD held a working meeting with Perumda Pasar Pakuan Jaya (PPJ) to discuss the performance achievements, business plans, and targets in 2026. During the meeting, the DPRD emphasized the importance of more professional market management in order to prevent leakage of income.
The chairman of Commission II of the Bogor City DPRD, Abdul Kadir Hasbi Alatas, said that the leakage of income had a direct impact on the decline in profits from regional companies, even though profit became the main focus of PPJ operations. He emphasized that PPJ still has an obligation to settle debt until the end of next year.
"With the remaining debt burden of IDR 1.1 billion, we hope it can be completed by 2026. After that PPJ can fulfill its new obligation, which is to provide dividends to the Bogor City Government in 2027 to boost PAD," said Hasbi, Thursday, December 11.
Commission II also asked PPJ to provide certainty regarding the planned renovation of the Bogor Market, Plaza Bogor, and business plans for the next five years. According to Hasbi, the revitalization of the Bogor Market is very crucial because it has a big impact on the company's revenue.
"There must be certainty from the Bogor Market revitalization plan. Because this is a huge loss of income," he said.
Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the Bogor City DPRD, Edi Kholki Zaelani, also asked PPJ to prepare a strategic study in order to be able to compete with open markets and online shopping platforms. He assessed that technological advances made it easier for people to switch to digital trade, so that people's markets needed to innovate.
"I hope that PPJ will continue to improve its performance, make studies, and manage the market more effectively and efficiently in facing the rise of online buying and selling. There must be innovation to continue to revive the markets," he said.
