Korlantas Prepares Four Clusters Of Security Flows For Christmas-New Year Holidays
JAKARTA - The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police Headquarters has prepared four security clusters to manage the surge in people's flows during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holidays.
Head of Korlantas Polri Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho said the readiness was discussed in the Puncak route survey and toll roads with the ranks of the National Police Headquarters, Jasa Raharja, and other stakeholders which took place in Megamendung, Bogor Regency, West Java, Thursday.
"The state is committed to ensuring that all Christmas and New Year's trips run safely and under control," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, December 11.
According to him, traffic engineering analysis such as one way and contraflow was carried out by referring to the previous year's operating evaluation. Each scenario will be applied situationally based on the dynamics of the vehicle current.
Agus explained that the four security clusters include toll roads, arterial roads and alternatives, ferry ports, as well as tourist areas and places of worship. Each one is prepared with a contingency plan according to the level of vulnerability.
In the port sector, mitigation measures are focused on Merak, Bakauheni, and Gilimanuk. The National Police has prepared a scenario for normal, alert, and congested conditions to anticipate an increase in crossing service users.
For toll roads, the increase in flow is projected to reach 12.2 percent or about 2.9 million vehicles leaving the Jakarta area. The National Police has prepared an operational strategy so that congestion does not cause prolonged congestion.
On tourist routes, vehicle queues are predicted to increase so that management is carried out together with the regional police and police. Evaluation of slowdown-prone points is part of current planning.
The security of churches and places of worship is also a major concern. The National Police ensures that religious activities at Christmas celebrations can take place safely and in an orderly manner.
Inspector General Agus added that the preparedness for extreme weather has been taken into account.
"Our CB (way of acting) is complete so that if there is heavy rain, floods, or landslides, we can move quickly. We ask for our blessing so that Christmas and New Year will be safe, smooth, and full of joy," said Inspector General Agus.
