Myanmar Junta Bombs Rakhine Hospital, 33 People Died
JAKARTA - It was reported that 33 people died after junta forces bombed a hospital in Rakhine state, Myanmar, on Wednesday (10/12).
The attack, which took place to coincide with International Human Rights Day, injured 76 people, including 27 people in critical condition.
Residents said the junta jet dropped two 226 kilograms of bombs at a public hospital in the city of Mrauk-U.
The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Representative Committee (CRPH), a former member of parliament representing the last elected Burmese parliament, condemned the attack and said the time of the attack "only further highlighted the crimes that have long been committed by the military coup."
"We strongly condemn the inhumane actions of the violent military junta who are trying to gain legitimacy through false elections. This action only further highlights the crimes that have long been committed by the military coup," the group wrote on X's social media account reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Thursday, December 11.
The ethnic clashes have exacerbated Myanmar's humanitarian crisis as the country is still hit by a civil conflict nearly four years after the February 2021 military coup.

The military's takeover in 2021 toppled the elected government led by Aung San Suu Kyi's National Democratic League, and plunged the country into more than four years of emergency rule.
Then in July, the military announced a nominal transfer of power to a civilian-led interim government ahead of elections planned for December and January, although the head of the junta remains interim president.
