Indonesia Gets Sixth Gold SEA Games 2025 Through Rendy Varera

JAKARTA Indonesia managed to secure the sixth gold medal at the Thailand 2025 SEA Games through cycling athlete, Rendy Varera Sanjaya.

Rendy managed to secure a place on the top of the top podium for the two-year multi-pronged sporting event after becoming the best in the men's mountain bike XCE number on Thursday, December 11, 2025.

"Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful, happy for sure, and very proud of this achievement," said Rendy after the award ceremony.

Competing at the Khao Kheow Open Zoo, Rendy has been impressive since the preliminary round. With a stable pedaling technique, he advanced to the final with a time of 47.835 seconds and was ranked seventh.

Entering the final round, Rendy appeared weightless and remained vigilant against challenging tracks. As a result, he managed to outperform nine competitors from Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, and Malaysia.

The second position was won by Malaysian cyclist, Zulfikri Zulkifli, while the third place was occupied by Filipino athlete Mark Louwel Valderama.

Rendy was Indonesia's first medal contributor in the 2025 SEA Games through a silver medal from the cycle mountain bike men's downhill number on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

Rendy's gold medal is the first for Indonesia today as well as the sixth gold as a whole.

Previously, five golds yesterday were donated by swimming athlete Jason Donovan Yusuf in the men's 100-meter backstroke, men's team badminton team, Andri Irawan from the petanque sport, mixed teams like four 500 meters, and the men's team team in the recognized poolmsae taekwondo number.

Indonesia has a great opportunity to get many gold medals today. One of them is from Jason Donovan who is considered to have a great opportunity in the men's 50 meter number.

The 2025 SEA Games will last until December 20. Indonesia went there with 1,021 athletes with the target of bringing home 80 gold medals.
