Good News On Vesak Day, 102 Buddhist Inmates In Kepri Can Remission
JAKARTA - A total of 102 Buddhist inmates in Riau Islands Province (Kepri) proposed to receive special remission of Vesak Day 2021 which falls on Wednesday, May 26.The granting of remission was proposed by the Regional Office (Kanwil) kemenkumham Kepri to the Ministry of Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia.Teguh Imanto as Head of Development, Guidance and IT in the Correctional Division of the Kemenkumham Kepri Regional Office said special remission is a remission given to inmates and children during religious holidays." Granting remission is a form of state present by giving appreciation for all positive achievements for inmates and children and has met the requirements that have been set," said Teguh Imanto in Tanjungpinang reported by Antara, Wednesday, May 25.
Vesak Special Remission is given to inmates and Buddhist children who have met administrative and substantive requirements, among them must be well-behaved / not registered on register F (notebook of violations of inmate discipline), have served a minimum of six months and three months for the child, and actively participated in the coaching program at the Penitentiary (Prison) or Special Development Institute for Children (LPKA) and Rumah Tahan (Rutan). Inmates belonging to the categories PP No. 28/2006 and PP No. 99/2012 are corruption, terrorism, narcotics, crimes against state security, serious human rights crimes as well as organized transnational crimes. For the category of PP No. 99/2012 there is an additional special requirement, namely must have a new JC get remission of the first year after 6 months, while if there is no JC only the cover letter / application alone must undergo 1/3 of the criminal period.
"The amount of special remission given starts from 15 days, 1 month, 1 month 15 days and 2 months," teguh said.
The proposed inmates received special remission of Vesak Day in the Technical Implementation Unit of the Kemenkumham Kepri Regional Office, namely from Lapas Klas IIA Tanjungpinang 9 people, Lapas Klas IIA Batam 34 people, Lapas Narcotics Klas IIA Tanjungpinang 21 people, Lapas Perempuan Klas IIB Batam 6 people. Lapas Klas III Dabo Singkep 3 people, Rutan Klas I Tanjungpinang 9 people, Rutan Klas IIA Batam 10 people and Rutan Klas IIB Tanjung Balai Karimun 10 people.
