Explosion In The Ring Area Of One Palace

JAKARTA - An explosion occurred in the National Monument (Monas) area, Jakarta, this morning. Two TNI members were reportedly injured in the incident.

Based on a report from a national television station, the two victims were Serka Fajar and Praka Gunawan. The explosion occurred at 07.05 WIB.

The location of the explosion occurred around the Monas area, adjacent to the Ministry of Home Affairs office. Not far from that location there is the Supreme Court (MA) building and the Merdeka Palace.

This area is commonly referred to as ring one. Palaces to a number of ministries and City Halls, are around this area.

Now sterilization appears to be being carried out precisely at Monas entrances. The traffic on Jalan Merdeka Timur towards Medan Merdeka Utara has been closed. Motorists are not allowed to cross the road.

The Central Jakarta Metro Police has deployed a team to investigate the alleged explosion at the National Monument (Monas). However, there has been no official statement from the police regarding the chronology of this explosion.
