TNI Builds 9 Bailey Bridges At The Disaster Point Of Sumatra Region

Deputy Head of Information Center (Wakapuspen) TNI Headquarters Brigadier General Osmar Silalahi said that as of today personnel are building nine bridges to connect land routes that have been cut off due to floods and landslides in the Sumatra region.

He explained that at the disaster site in Aceh, four bailey bridges were being built.

"Then for West Sumatra there are four for Sikabau already 63 percent, then below the Lawbang 58 percent is the beiley bridge," said Osmar as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 10.

In addition, in North Sumatra there is a bridge that connects the land route between Central Tapanuli and South Tapanuli.

"For those in North Sumatra, 100 percent has been completed," said Osmar.

Osmar said the construction of the emergency bridge was carried out by the TNI AD unit from the Construction Engineer. The bridge construction program is also under the auspices of the Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Maruli Simanjuntak who was appointed as Commander of the Bridge Development Task Force.

According to Osmar, until now his party will continue to strive to increase the construction of the bailey bridge at several damaged land lane points.

With the construction of this bridge, he hopes that the logistics distribution to flood disaster victims can be carried out optimally.
