Karawang Regency Government Tata Cikampek Station Ahead Of KRL Connectivity
KARAWANG - The Government of Karawang Regency, West Java, has arranged an area around Cikampek Station in preparation for increased connectivity in the operation of the Commuter Line electric train (KRL) to the Cikampek area.
"The arrangement of the Cikampek area, including around the station area, is carried out as part of the preparation before the official KRL service operates until Cikampek," said Karawang Regent Aep Syaepuloh as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 10.
He said the increase in connectivity in the operation of KRL Commuter Line to the Cikampek area was one of the priority agendas of the Karawang Regency Government, including the West Java Provincial Government.
Currently, the Karawang Regency Government is starting to make arrangements in the area around the station as part of the feasibility requirements for the development of KRL services.
"We want KRL to really reach Cikampek. Not only discourse, but also in the form of services that can be enjoyed by the community. The district government is ready to synergize with PT KAI and forkopimda in preparing infrastructure and structuring the area," he said.
As a follow-up, the Regency Government has begun to control and organize the Cikampek Station area, including improvements to traffic, structuring street vendors, as well as regulating public areas to make them more orderly and feasible for passenger mobility.
The Regent said the arrangement was carried out in stages and put forward a persuasive approach to the community.
This effort is expected to strengthen Cikampek's feasibility as the final point of expanding the KRL line and improve the quality of access to citizen transportation.
In addition to accelerating community mobility, KRL services are also expected to encourage new economic growth in the eastern region of Karawang.
