3 People Still Missing, Searches For Victims Buried By Landslides In West Pasaman Stopped
SIMPANG FOUR - The West Pasaman Regency Government, West Sumatra, has decided to stop the search for landslide victims buried in Tinggam, Nagari (Village) Sinuruik, Talamau District.
"After a maximum search until the 12th day since the incident and also according to the approval of the victim's heirs, the search was stopped today," said West Pasaman Regent Yulianto accompanied by Regional Secretary Doddy San Ismail, Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Jhon Edwar, and Coordinator of the Pasaman SAR Post (OSC) Novi Yurandi at Simpang Empat, Wednesday, December 10, reported by ANTARA.
According to Regent Yulianto, maximum search both manually and using heavy excavator equipment has been pursued. Joint teams from Basarnas, BPBD, Polri, TNI, PMI, volunteers, and the community have also made maximum efforts to search.
However, he said, according to the rules and approval of the victim's heirs, it was decided that the search would be stopped.
"Although the search for victims is stopped, monitoring will continue to be carried out by the team below," he said.
He expressed his gratitude to all parties, both the joint team and the community who participated in looking for victims.
It is known that the landslide at the location occurred on Friday (28/11) at around 04.00 WIB hoarding five people.
Of the five people, two of them have been found dead, namely Yelma Yunita (41) and Raffael Gusti Pratama (7).
Meanwhile, three other victims, namely Dian Fernanda (24), Amrizal (38), and Nurhayati (35) have not been found.
