Erika Carlina Reveals Suffering Of Autoimmune And GADs That Trigger Severe Hair Loss

JAKARTA Behind her always looking cheerful and energetic appearance, Erika Carlina turns out to keep a story of mental health struggle that is quite surprising.

This beautiful actress recently reopened her past page when she was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and a real autoimmune disease.

Erika shared that at first she was the type of person who was skeptical of mental health issues or mental illness. He felt less relaxed because he felt his life was fine. However, his views changed completely when his body began to provide a signal of danger that could not be ignored, namely extreme hair loss.

"Initially there were symptoms, my hair fell out. So the fallout was not one-on-one, but immediately bald around four points," recalls Erika in the South Jakarta area, recently.

He explained that the sabotage occurred in the middle, back, and side of the head so that the pores of the skin of his head were not visible.

The worrying physical condition forced her to consult a specialist doctor. After undergoing a series of thorough examinations, Erika was referred to a psychiatrist. The diagnosis results show that she has autoimmune triggered by excessive stress that she has not been aware of so far.

"So the two are at the same time. Because of autoimmune, but because of stress, it turns out. So I said the stress was not felt," explained Erika.

Erika admits that unconsciously she often chooses not to feel negative emotions. He resists sadness, anger, or disappointment, which eventually accumulates and explodes in the form of physical illness. Doctors also suggested that Erika begin to learn to express her emotions in a healthy manner.

"It turns out that if you guys want to be angry, just get angry, just get it out. If you're sad, just put it out, don't hold it down," said Erika.

He emphasized the importance of validation of their own feelings so as not to have a bad impact on long-term health.

This bitter experience is a valuable lesson for Erika. Now, he is more sensitive to his mental condition, especially after becoming a mother. He tries to keep his mood stable and happy for the sake of his baby.

Luckily, after giving birth to her first child, Erika did not experience mental disorders such as postpartum depression or severe mood swing. Instead, she feels very happy and enjoys every moment together with her baby.
