Passengers Jumping From KMP Dorothy Found Dead On Sangiang Island

The joint SAR team managed to find a passenger of KMP Dorothy who jumped into the sea in the waters of Sangiang Island, Bakauheni District, South Lampung Regency.

Head of the Bakauheni SAR Post, Rezie Kuswara, said the victim was identified as Dimas Ade Setiawan (25), a resident of Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency, Jambi Province, who was found dead on Wednesday (10/12) afternoon on Sangiang Island.

"The victim, Alhamdulillah, was found at 09.30 WIB in the coast area of Sangiang Island," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

He explained that the victim was first found by local fishermen, then reported to the Bakauheni SAR Post.

Based on the report, he continued, joint officers consisting of Basarnas, TNI AL, and Polairud Polda Lampung, went straight to the location.

"The victim was successfully evacuated at 11.30 WIB and taken to the Bob Bazar Kalianda Regional General Hospital (RSUD)," he said.

Rezie sent the victim to jump from KMP Dorothy while crossing to Merak Port on Friday (5/12) at 11.15 WIB.

Based on information from eyewitnesses at the scene, he said, the victim was found to have jumped after KMP Dorothy made a voyage from Bakauheni Port to Merak Banten.

At around 11.15 WIB, one person fell off Dorothy's KMP ship. Based on information from eyewitnesses that he saw the victim jumping into the sea and immediately reported the incident to the South Lampung Polairud Polres, and Polairud continued the information to the Lampung SAR Office," he said.
