People Asked To Be Alert To Children's Activities Krakatau
SERANG - Banten Police reminded the public to increase awareness of the volcanic activity of Mount Anak Krakatau which is still at Level II or Alert.
The public is asked to stay away from the danger zone and always update official information from the competent authorities.
The acting Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, AKBP Meryadi, emphasized that vigilance is needed considering that seismic and tremor activities are still being recorded.
PVMBG reports Mount Anak Krakatau is still at Level II (Alert). The crater smoke was observed to be white with thin intensity, accompanied by the recording of one volcanic earthquake and continuous tremors with an amplitude of 1 8 mm, he said as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 10.
PVMBG recommends that people, visitors, tourists, and fishermen not be within a two-kilometer radius of active craters to prevent the risk of eruption hazards or ejection of volcanic material.
In addition to volcanic activity, the Banten Police also highlighted the potential for moderate waves that could disrupt the safety of shipping and fishing activities in the South Coast of Pandeglang, West Sunda Strait, Pandeglang, and South Waters of Lebak.
Meryadi said that the weather conditions in Banten are still dynamic and have the potential to change quickly. "We urge the public to monitor official information from the BMKG and related agencies," he said.
BMKG estimates that light to moderate rain has the potential to occur in various sub-districts in Serang, Pandeglang, Lebak, and Tangerang during the day to night.
The Banten Police also reminded a number of safety measures when extreme weather occurs, ranging from avoiding outdoor activities during heavy rains, ensuring the safety of house installations, to delaying the journey of two-wheeled vehicles when views are limited.
The weather can change quickly. We urge the public to postpone activities outside the home that are not urgent during bad weather. The Banten Police continue to coordinate with BMKG and PVMBG to ensure that the information received by the public is accurate and up-to-date," he said.
In anticipation, standby personnel have been placed in two Disaster Alert Posts complete with SAR equipment to speed up responses in the event of an emergency situation.
