Bobby Nasution Joins BNI To Develop Medan Smart City
JAKARTA - The Government of Medan City, North Sumatra, collaborated with PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk to provide integrated solutions through the use of information and communication technology to develop smart cities.
Vice President Director of BNI Adi Sulistyowati said the acceleration of digitalization in the region in accordance with the direction of President Joko Widodo is to accelerate and expand the implementation of transaction electronification in local governments, increase transaction transparency and governance, to integrate the regional financial management system.
"At an early stage, this cooperation will be realized through the digitization of regional revenues to realize more effective, efficient, and transparent regional acceptance," he was quoted as saying by Antara, Tuesday, May 25.
The woman who is familiarly called Susi said in order to support the direction of President Joko Widodo, BNI provides solutions to six main concepts in smart cities, namely Smart People, Smart Governance, Smart Infrastructure, Smart Environment, Smart Economy and Smart Society.
In addition, BNI Smart City program does not only focus on ecosystem development in the destination district/city. However, it also supports the digitalization program of the destination district/city with the company providing several solutions for the city and district governments by synergizing with the local BPD.
For example, among others, regional payment/shopping solutions (Internet Banking Corporate or BNIDirect, SP2D online, and virtual Debit Account), acceptance solutions (e-PBB, e-PDAM, e-PAD, e-Samsat, and e-Levy), BNI marketplace that assists the city/district government in promoting regional tourism and MSME products and marketing online.
Also, the provision of electronic money (BNI Tapcash, LinkAja, and QRIS) for the community and local government to increase cashless transactions or cashless society.
The realization of BNI's support in accelerating digitalization in the area was one of them was realized by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the Use of Banking Services Facilities and Smart City Program Support for the Medan City Government between the Director of Institutional Relations of BNI Sis Apik Wijayanto and The Mayor of Medan Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution in Jakarta, Tuesday, which was also witnessed by Vice President Director of BNI Adi Sulistyowati.
Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution expressed his appreciation for the openness of BNI to jointly implement government programs to realize smart cities in Medan.
"Our tagline is Medan Berkah today in collaboration through BNI Smart City which is built with digital and cashless system to add revenue to Medan City. Hopefully in the future it can be facilitated with this digital system," said Bobby.
In addition, Bobby said that in addition to the MoU related to smart cities, there is also the signing of cooperation agreements related to the provision of banking services in the receipt of payment of hotel, restaurant, and café tax (horeka) and regional levy.
"The potential is still a lot such as restaurants, hotels and others so that taxes can be directly received by the Medan City Government, this is the first in medan," he said.
