The Peak Of The Nataru Southeast Sulawesi Homecoming Flow Is Predicted On December 24, The Government Monitors Candidates

KENDARI Provincial Government of Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) predicts that the peak of the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year (Nataru) homecoming flows will occur on December 24, 2025. Meanwhile, the peak of backflow is expected to fall on January 2, 2026.

Head of the Southeast Sulawesi Transportation Agency Muhammad Rajulan when met in Kendari, Tuesday, said that his party was taking several steps to anticipate a surge in people's movements during the year-end holiday period. The Southeast Sulawesi Transportation Agency has alerted all personnel at various strategic points which are expected to be the track of people who want to take a vacation.

"Integrated security and service posts are also being prepared, which will start operating from 18 December 2025 to 5 January 2026," said Rajulan, quoted from ANTARA, Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

His party will also implement an economic class tariff policy in the transportation sector. Rajulan said that this policy aims to maintain the stability of goods prices and stock availability throughout the region, as well as suppress brokering practices that take advantage of high demand for transportation.

"We want to ensure that distribution and services run in an orderly manner. This economic class tariff is one way to prevent those who seek personal gain," he said.

In addition, the Transportation Agency together with related agencies will conduct ramp checks on the entire land and sea transportation fleet to ensure that every vehicle and ship is feasible to operate and ensure the safety of people's travel.

In the air transportation sector, his party has coordinated with Halu Oleo Airport in South Konawe Regency (South Konawe) to anticipate the potential for increased passengers. Integrated posts are also provided at airports as monitoring centers, information services, and handling complaints. Meanwhile, on the sea route, similar posts are placed in ports that are predicted to experience a surge in passengers, including the Baubau - Wanci route, Amogingo - Labuan, as well as the priority Torobulu - Tampo.

"We hope that all of these preparations and mitigation measures can provide a sense of security for travelers so that their journey runs smoothly," said Rajulan.
