Losses Due To Terra Drone Building Fires Estimated To Reach IDR 2 Billion
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) estimates the nominal loss due to the Terra Drone building fire, Cempaka Baru, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, reaching billions of rupiah.
"The object affected by the Terra Drone building estimated a loss of around Rp. 2 billion," said Head of the DKI Jakarta BPBD Pusdatin Mohamad Yohan in his statement, Tuesday, December 9.
The fire incident at the building on Jalan Letjend Suprapto occurred at 12:43 WIB. The DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) deployed 101 firefighters with 29 units along with police and TNI officers.
Based on the latest records, the death toll from the fire at the drone sales building was 22 people. The victims consisted of 15 women and 7 men.
A total of 22 bodies have been taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta for identification and forensic examination.
BPBD noted that 76 employees were in the Terra Drone Indonesia building. In the fire incident that occurred, 54 people were rescued and are now undergoing treatment.
"It is suspected that the cause of the fire was due to the malfunction of the drone battery," said Yohan.

Earlier in the evening, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inspected the location of the fire. Pramono ensured that the DKI Provincial Government covered all funeral costs for the victims who died as a result of the fire at the Terra Drone building.
"The DKI Jakarta government will be responsible for all funeral victims who died, regardless of the number," Pramono said at the location.
In addition, Pramono also ensured that all injured victims received treatment at the hospital at the expense of the DKI Provincial Government.
"Those who are injured and some will be referred later and we, the DKI Jakarta Government, will solve those who are injured and so on. As Governor of Jakarta, I am really very sorry, innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un. It is very sad and hopefully this will not happen again," explained Pramono.
