Witnessed By Prabowo And PM Sharif, Indonesia-Pakistan Sign 7 MoU

JAKARTA - The Indonesian government and Pakistan signed seven memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation and cooperation agreements in various fields whose procession was witnessed directly by President Prabowo Subianto and Pakistan Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif.

The signing ceremony and the exchange of cooperation documents were held in a series of official visits by President Prabowo at the official residence of the Prime Minister of Pakistan (PM House) in Islamabad, Tuesday, December 9.

The seven MoUs and cooperation agreements include the MoU for higher education cooperation signed by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto and Pakistan's Federal Professional Education and Training Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, then the cooperation in launching the Indonesia's "Indonesian Aid Scholarship" scholarship signed by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Pakistan's Minister of Education Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.

The two countries also signed an MoU on trade and certification of halal products, whose cooperation documents were exchanged by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Pakistan's Trade Minister Jam Kamal Khan.

Indonesia is the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, while Pakistan ranks second for the world's largest Muslim population.

In PM House, Indonesia and Pakistan also announced cooperation in the development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The MoU document for the cooperation was exchanged by Foreign Minister Sugiono with Pakistan's National Food Security Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain. Then, Indonesia and Pakistan also signed a cooperation in the field of archives.

The cooperation documents in the archival sector were then exchanged by Foreign Minister Sugiono with Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan, who is also Pakistan's Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar.

Then, the two countries continued to agree on cooperation to prevent and eradicate drug trafficking. Finally, Indonesia and Pakistan continued to sign an MoU for cooperation in the health sector.

The cooperation document was exchanged by Foreign Minister Sugiono with Pakistan's Minister of Services and National Health Regulation Syed Mustafa Kamal.

At PM House, President Prabowo and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a one-on-one meeting and chaired a bilateral meeting between the Government of Indonesia and the Government of Pakistan.

The Indonesian Government Delegation that accompanied President Prabowo in his series of trips in Pakistan, namely Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal TNI M. Tonny Harjono.

Then the Indonesian Ambassador to Pakistan Lt. Gen. TNI (Ret.) Chandra Warsenanto Sukotjo, Head of the Defense Logistics Agency of the Ministry of Defense Marshal TNI Yusuf Jauhari, and Commander of the Indonesian Army Kopassus Lt. Gen. Djon Afriandi.
