Cambodia-Thailand Accuse Each Other Of Violating Ceasefire
JAKARTA - The Cambodian Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) stated that Thailand sprayed toxic substances in the border areas of the two countries.
On the same day, the operations center of the Second Army of Thailand said Cambodia fired BM-21 missiles into four areas of the Thai border.
The Thai side said in a statement that their troops had no choice but to respond according to the rules of engagement to neutralize threats, stop enemy fire, and protect the lives and property of citizens in border areas.
We continue to fire almost all night in the military area number five. Thailand also uses large drones for reconnaissance. After that, Thai troops sprayed toxic substances in the area," Cambodia's Ministry of Defense said via social media as reported by ANTARA from Sputnik/RIA Novosti-OANA, Tuesday, December 9.
The ministry said two civilians were killed by artillery fire from Thailand.
Tensions on the Thai-Kamboja border have risen again since the weekend and continue until Monday, with the two countries accusing each other of violating the ceasefire.
News portal Khaosod reported, citing a spokesman for the Thai Army, Cambodia launched airstrikes on the Anupong military base, which Thailand responded with airstrikes to Cambodia's military infrastructure.
