Dongfeng Add Ammunition At Malaysian Market, Ready To Present Two Mainstay Models Next Year

JAKARTA - A brand from China continues to attack the Southeast Asian market, including Malaysia. Dongfeng, who is present under the auspices of the Central Auto Distributors (CADB), has been ready to add to its lineup of models since last year.

Based on Paultan's report, quoted on Tuesday, December 9, Dongfeng will bring two of its flagship models, namely the 007 and Vigo sedans, which are strong challengers by BYD Atto 2.

Local specifications have not been released, referring to the Chinese market, this model is powered by a single front motor that generates 184 PS (135 kW) power and 290 Nm torque, which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in 3.6 seconds with its highest speed limited to 150 km/hour.

Two LFP battery sizes are offered in China, namely 44.94 kWh of battery with a 401 km range claim and 51.87 kWh of battery which is claimed to be capable of reaching 471 km in one charge (CLTC).

Furthermore, for 007, this sedan comes with a length of 4,880 mm, a width of 1,895 mm, and a height of 1,476 mm while the wheel is 2,915 mm.

A total of three variants will be available here, with the basic version driven single-engine rear wheels generating 218 PS (160 kW) and 310 Nm torque, capable of accelerating from zero to 100 km/hour in 6.8 seconds.

The 58.35 kWh LFP battery produces a range of up to 550 km on China's CLTC cycle. The long-range rear wheel driven model increases power by 272 PS (200 kW), reduces acceleration to 5.8 seconds, and with a 73.48 kWh battery, capable of traveling a distance of up to 650 km on a single charge.
