IPhone 16 Dominates Sales Of Cellphones In The Third Quarter Of 2025

JAKARTA Apple managed to master smartphone sales globally in the last quarter of this year. This achievement was driven by the increasing number of sales of the iPhone 16.

According to a Counterpoint Research report, this is the third time the iPhone 16 has mastered Apple's sales. This shows that the iPhone 16 is Apple's best-selling phone in the past year.

According to details of the report, as reported via 9to5mac, the iPhone 16 managed to control four percent of total global sales. Overall, Apple secured five of the top ten positions on the best-selling smartphone list this quarter.

This achievement also increased from the third quarter of the previous year, where Apple only managed to secure the top four positions. In addition to the iPhone 16, the other positions are occupied by the iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and iPhone 16e.

The four are in the top four in a row. Meanwhile, the tenth position on the list of best-selling phones in the quarter of this year is occupied by the iPhone 17 Pro Max. However, the availability of this device is limited towards the end of the quarter.

The report notes that the iPhone 16 Pro model is experiencing a decline. This is due to consumer decisions in key markets such as the US, UK, and China which tend to choose a newer iPhone 17 series.

Counterpoint Research also stated that Apple's sales in the last semester were 'driven by iPhone buyers in the COVID era who were looking for a replacement for smart phones'. This means that many mobile phone users are starting to look for replacements from old phones and they are interested in iPhones.
