Want A Christmas-New Year Holiday To Bandung? Walkot Reminds About Weather, Don't Force Yourself
BANDUNG Mayor of Bandung, West Java, Muhammad Farhan appealed to tourists to be more alert to weather conditions which are now entering the high intensity rain phase ahead of the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year (Nataru) holidays.
"We ask tourists to have common awareness, especially about garbage. Don't just leave it alone. And for those who travel through nature, please pay attention to the weather and don't force yourself," said Farhan in Bandung, Tuesday, December 9.
He mentioned a number of tourist attractions that need to be watched out for, especially watersheds, Grand Forest Parks (Tahura), and water tourism routes around Cika-Cika.
Farhan said the Bandung City Government had evacuated and relocated residents living on the banks of the river, especially areas that were at risk of flooding.
"The relocation is temporary. It doesn't go directly to the Rancacili Flats, because it's far away and has the potential to disrupt children's school activities," he said.
For the time being, the handling of relocation is carried out under a rented scheme financed by philanthropists, not through the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).
Farhan added that most of the housing along the river certainly does not have a construction permit, although legally asset ownership can be made possible.
"What is not allowed is that the government issues the IMB or PBG. That's what he said with ownership status," he said.

“Akan ada moratorium untuk izin pemukiman baru. Yang sudah berjalan tidak bisa dihentikan, karena izinnya sudah keluar,” ujar Farhan.

He ensured that the Bandung City Government imposed a moratorium on the issuance of new settlement permits until the weather situation was stable and disaster risk mitigation policies were strengthened.
There will be a moratorium for new settlement permits. Those that have been running cannot be stopped, because the permit has been issued," said Farhan.
