Regarding The Melani Case, Mecimapro Affirms That He Has Implemented The Governance Principles Applicable In The Entertainment Industry

JAKARTA - PT Melania Citra Permata (Mecimapro) provided clarification regarding the legal case currently being pursued by its high-ranking official, Fransiska Dwi Meilani alias Melani.

Through an official statement uploaded on Instagram, Mecimapro tried to explain the company's financial aspects, which it felt had been misunderstood.

"We feel the need to clarify and straighten out some of the information we value does not fully reflect the actual context," the statement reads, quoted Tuesday, December 9.

"Mecimapro as a concert promoter and event organizer has carried out business operations in accordance with the principle of governance that serves as in the entertainment industry," he added.

In practice, said Mecimapro, the income earned from a concert activity is not merely a clean advantage, but is allocated and managed strategically to support the company's overall operational sustainability.

"This includes production costs, logistics, venue rentals, talent fees, licensing, marketing, team operations, as well as preparation needs to make concerts and subsequent events a success," he said.

Mecimapro explained that the concert industry has a long production and investment scene, is complex, and involves many parties and stages.

Therefore, fund management is carried out based on integrated and sustainable budget planning to ensure that the quality, service commitment, and continuity of event administration are well maintained.

"We emphasize that Mecimapro is always committed to carrying out operations in a professional and responsible manner," he said. We also continue to carry out internal evaluations in order to improve the company's transparency and accountability standards in the future.

At last week's trial, the Public Prosecutor, who sued Melani for alleged fraud and embezzlement, said that Mecimapro received a revenue of Rp35 billion from the Twice concert in Jakarta at the end of 2023.

The prosecutor also stated that Melani had used the company's revenue for personal purposes, instead of returning investment and profit funds to PT Media Inspiransi Bangsa as a partner at the concert.
