M 7.2 Earthquake Shakes North Japan, Tsunami Warning Is Sounded

JAKARTA - The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) reported a strong 7.2 magnitude earthquake rocked northern Japan on Monday. A Japanese earthquake reportedly triggered a tsunami warning up to three meters high along the country's northeastern coast.

Reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, JMA said the epicenter was off the east coast of Aomori Prefecture, at a depth of about 50 kilometers, Monday, December 8.

There have been no recent reports regarding the impact of this Japanese earthquake.
