Mendikdasmen Affirms Disbursement Of Teacher Professional Allowances In Disaster Areas Continues
JAKARTA - Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu'ti emphasized that his party will continue to disburse teaching professional allowances (TPG) for areas affected by floods and landslides in Sumatra so that teachers do not need to worry.
"The allowance remains disbursed," said Minister of Education and Culture Mu'ti in a working meeting (raker) with Commission X of the DPR, Monday, December 8.
He emphasized that his party did not turn a blind eye to teachers who were victims of natural disasters in the three provinces on the island of Sumatra so that the Ministry of Education and Culture not only distributed aid to students and improvements to learning infrastructure, but also teachers and education personnel.
For example, Mu'ti said the Ministry of Education and Culture also distributed compensation for teachers who died or were hospitalized, namely six teachers who died receiving compensation of Rp. 10 million per person.
As for the four teachers who are still being treated, the ministry distributes assistance of Rp. 5 million per person.
He said he would return to the field to monitor the situation and distribute aid for victims of natural disasters in Aceh and North Sumatra Provinces on December 9-10, 2025.
Previously, on the same occasion, a member of Commission X DPR from the Nasdem Faction, Ratih Megasari Singkarru, gave input so that the provision of disaster assistance would not only focus on students because teachers also needed it.
"Don't forget the teacher because there are also victims (to become). Their house may be washed away, they are also traumatized. Providing emergency teaching and learning training may be good, but it could add to their psychological burden," said Ratih.
Therefore, he also suggested the need for adequate psychological support to teachers.
In addition, he also asked for certainty of special policies regarding the disbursement of professional allowances for teachers affected by natural disasters.
"We leave a message, please have a special policy so that their certification allowances or professional allowances remain fully disbursed even though they cannot fulfill teaching hours because their school is damaged. Do not let them have an accident, their allowances are also cut due to administrative regulations," he said.
