Bali Prosecutor's Office Accelerates Handling Of Corruption Cases And Asset Recovery

The Bali High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) stated that it was accelerating the process of handling cases of corruption and restoring regional assets.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Bali High Prosecutor's Office, Chatarina when inaugurating Satria Abdi as Assistant for Special Crimes (Aspidsus) at the Bali High Prosecutor's Office at the Sasana Dharma Adhyaksa Hall, the Bali High Prosecutor's Office, Denpasar.

Chatarina emphasized that the change of new officials in addition to being a strategic step to refresh the organization in order to strengthen the line of prosecution of extraordinary crimes in the jurisdiction of Bali, Kajati Bali also emphasized that the field of Special Crimes (Pidsus) is a storefront of the prosecutor's performance in the eyes of the public.

Therefore, Kajati gave strict instructions to immediately carry out mapping and accelerating the settlement of case arrears, both at the stage of investigation, investigation, and prosecution.

Previously, the former Head of Bali Prosecutor's Office, Ketut Sumedana, had revealed to the public that two corruption cases were being investigated by the Special Crimes Division of the Bali High Prosecutor's Office, namely the alleged corruption of building construction projects at Denpasar Open University with a state loss of Rp. 3 billion.

In addition, it is a case of alleged issuance of certificates in the Ngurah Rai Grand Forest Park (Tahura) conservation area.

However, until now, there has been no progress on the case since it was announced to the public on Monday (20/10) before Ketut Sumedana left his status as Kajati Bali.

Dilansi ANTARA, selain meminta penanganan kasus korupsi, Chatarina juga memberikan tembahakan utama bagi Aspidsus yang baru yakni mepriorikan kasus yang berkualitas.

In this case, Kajati Bali asked Aspidsus to focus on disclosing corruption cases that touch the wider public interest and harm the Balinese regional economy and avoid handling protracted cases without legal certainty.

Not only that, Chatarina asked for the handling of cases oriented towards asset selection.

He emphasized that the paradigm of law enforcement of Pidsus should not only stop at criminalizing the body. Kajati requires optimizing tracing and confiscation of assets resulting from crime to recover the state's financial losses optimally.

Chatarina requested that Aspidsus ensure that the entire law enforcement process is free from intervention, transactional, and abuse of authority.
