DKI Provincial Government Sends Sumatra Disaster Assistance, Pramono: We Don't Have To Appear
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that the DKI Provincial Government has distributed aid to residents affected by floods and landslides in Sumatra.
The DKI Provincial Government, according to him, immediately distributed aid after coordinating with local governments and disaster management institutions in affected areas.
Pramono emphasized that Jakarta was trying to help without making the distribution of aid as a performance event or image content to be seen by the public.
"For matters related to the disaster that occurred in Aceh, then in North Sumatra and West Sumatra, the Jakarta government was present, only when we sent assistance, we had to appear on the surface," said Pramono in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Monday, December 8.
In the distribution carried out by the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), thousands of ready-to-eat food packages were sent, blankets, as well as family and child equipment.
In addition, assistance from a number of DKI Jakarta BUMDs was also mobilized as a form of solidarity and initial recovery support. The assistance sent includes basic necessities, basic needs, to clean water reservoirs.
"We have sent, hopefully this will be the third time," he said.
Pramono hopes that Jakarta's contribution can help ease the burden on residents who are still facing the impact of damage, logistical limitations, and other emergency conditions.
"Jakarta assistance may provide relief to our brothers and sisters who are currently facing disasters, both in Aceh, in West Sumatra, and in North Sumatra," he said.
Previously, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government was ready to send aid again to residents affected by floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
This was revealed after the DKI Provincial Government distributed aid from the ranks of SKPD, BUMD, and the people of Jakarta collected by the Indonesian Navy at the Military Cross-Navy Command Headquarters, North Jakarta.
"Jakarta is ready if further assistance is needed. Because after this disaster it is much heavier than what we will face now," said Rano, Sunday, November 30.
According to Rano, cross-institutional collaboration is the key in accelerating the distribution of aid and ensuring that the basic needs of the community are met quickly and accurately.
"Solidaritas seperti ini menunjukkan kekuatan kita sebagai bangsa. Ketika pemerintah, lembaga, TNI, dan masyarakat bergerak bersama, kita dapat menghadirkan bantuan lebih cepat dan tepat," ucap dia.
