5.9 Million New Motor Units Have Been Circulating In Indonesia Since January 2025

JAKARTA - Motorcycle sales in Indonesia in November 2025 showed relatively stable conditions, although the situation is still not improving. The Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) reported domestic sales reaching 523,591 units, this slightly decreased from October which posted 590,362 units.

This decline is considered reasonable by producers. Towards the end of the year, manufacturers usually make adjustments to distribution to dealers to organize stocks and prepare sales rhythms at the beginning of the year.

This condition makes the flow of distribution tend to slope without eroded optimism from industry players. In terms of exports, the performance of Indonesian motorcycles still shows good achievements.

Delivery Completely Knocked Down (CKD) reached 609,521 units, indicating strong demand from overseas markets. Countries in South Asia, Africa, and Latin America are still the main destinations for CKD models assembled in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Completently Built Up (CBU) exports in November recorded 43,426 units, down slightly from October which reached 49,009 units. Industry players say this fluctuation is still within normal limits, in line with global market dynamics in the last quarter.

A large contribution also came from component delivery and spare parts. In November, the export of part by part penetrated 12,063,831 units, further asserting Indonesia's position as the production of two-wheeled components.

Judging by VOI on Monday, December 8, overall the domestic market throughout January 'November 2025 has reached 5,950,844 units. AISI is optimistic that the momentum of the year-end holiday and increasing community mobility can encourage December sales.

Some brands are also starting to take advantage of this period by launching a new model, the latest one is Honda with the All New Vario 125. The scutik segment is still the backbone of the national market, while electric motors are starting to show activity even though the contribution is not too large.
