Invite Jakarta Residents To Donate For The Sumatra Disaster, DKI DPRD: We Even Receive Rp1,000
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta DPRD through the Honorary Board (BK) decided to take advantage of the Honorary Award event as a momentum for fundraising for victims of floods and landslides in Sumatra.
This initiative comes amid many reports of the emergency needs of affected residents that are still ongoing days after the disaster occurred.
Chairman of the BK DPRD DKI Jakarta, Yudha Permana, said the forum was opened as a space for public participation, including ASN DKI Provincial Government, members of the DPRD, and residents of Jakarta. According to him, conditions in the field make any assistance meaningful.
"We hope that this can be a place for Jakarta residents and all members of the council and all ASN in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to make a maximum donation," said Yudha at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, Monday, December 8.
Yudha emphasized that this activity was not carried out to compare who gave the most. Yudha asked all parties to maintain the essence of raising donations as a form of concern, not a place to show off contributions.
"Please remember, raising donations is not a place to show off, who is bigger, who is smaller. We don't want to judge how much. Anyone wants to donate Rp. 10,000, Rp. 100,000, Rp. 50 thousand, we even receive Rp. 1,000," said Yudha.
Yudha said that the principle held by the DPRD BK from the start was sincerity from donors. The amount of donations is not a measure, because all aid is treated equally and will be conveyed to affected residents.
"The important thing is to help sincerely. Whatever it is, we accept it. We want to be ridiculed for small values, we are responsible here," he said.
Although it does not set an official target, the DPRD BK hopes that the final value of the donation can be significant. This is driven by the large need for logistics and further assistance for survivors which is expected to continue for the next few months.
"Alhamdulillah, it could be above 500 million, and we would be very happy to be able to achieve 1 billion," he said.

The fundraising will take place on December 13 at the Honorary Board of Award in the Plenary Room of the DKI Jakarta DPRD. All elements of the regional government are expected to attend, starting from the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno, Regional Secretary of DKI, Head of Service, to the leadership of BUMD.
BK also opens opportunities for the general public to donate on the eve of the event. To facilitate access, the committee prepared QRIS at various points of the room. The main screen will also show periodic development of donations.
"Later, we will update the event every 10 minutes, how much donations have been received. Until the end of the closing of the total fund," explained Yudha.
All funds raised will be channeled through the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). That way, the distribution of aid can follow the official route and reach the affected points more quickly.
"Hopefully there will be no donation assistance for victims of the disaster that is late. We know the conditions there are very difficult after the disaster. Our brothers and sisters still really need help from all of us," he added.
