Indonesia's Economy Predicted To Grow Up To 5.33 Percent In 2026
JAKARTA - The National Bank Association (Perbanas) projects economic growth in 2026 to range from 5.1 percent to 5.33 percent.
Chairman of Perbanas Hery Gunardi said banks and Bank Indonesia were united in assessing that this target was much better than in 2025.
"We see that we are optimistic, better than this year. Banking seeing the 2026 economy is certainly also good. It is better than 2025," said Hery in Jakarta, December 8.
He detailed that the Bank Group Based on Core Capital (KBMI) 4 such as Bank Mandiri estimates economic growth at 5.18 percent, Bank BCA estimates economic growth at 5.10 percent, BRI at 4.99 to 5.2 percent, BNI at 5.20 percent, and Bank Indonesia at 5.33 percent.
In terms of credit, Hery said that in 2026, Indonesia will enter an era of single-digit credit growth.
Bank Mandiri estimates credit growth at 9.9 percent, Bank BCA at 9.0 percent, Bank BRI 8.7 percent to 11.5 percent, Bank BNI at 11 percent and Bank Indonesia at 8-12 percent.

Kendati demikian, Hery mengatakan, Indonesia masih menghadapi dua tantangan di tahun 2026 yang harus diwaspadai antara lain menurunnya daya beli masyarakat dan minimnya ekspansi dunia usaha.
"Saat ini pebisnis masih wait and see. Mau masuk sektor mana, melihat kondisi lebih baik lagi untuk mendukung pertumbuhan," tandas Hery.

Nevertheless, Hery said, Indonesia still faces two challenges in 2026 which must be watched out for, among others, the decline in people's purchasing power and the lack of expansion of the business world.
"Currently, business people are still waiting and see. We want to enter which sector, see even better conditions to support growth," said Hery.
