Hyundai Simplifies The Ioniq 5 Model 2026 Line, Now Only Three Main Variants Remain

Hyundai has changed its product strategy again by drastically cutting the number of variants in Ioniq 5 of 2026. Now the Ioniq 5 ranks are made much simpler with three main choices, namely Ioniq 5, Ioniq 5 Elite, and Ioniq 5 N Line Premium.

The two latest trims, Elite and Premium, replace Dynamiq and Epiq while aligning the naming with other Hyundai lines. The N Line style package, which was previously the option, has now been removed for Elite, while Premium immediately adopted the N Line display as the standard.

Another major change occurred in the battery system, where Hyundai no longer offers 63 kWh and 84 kWh battery options. The entire line is now equipped with a larger 84 kWh battery to ensure consistent performance and efficiency, as reported by Drive, Monday, December 8.

The configuration of the 125 kW motorbike that was previously present in the Standard Range model was also officially injected to death. For prices, Hyundai opens the basic Ioniq 5 offer at 76,200 US dollars equipped with rear wheels, 19-inch penyells, and 570 km (WLTP) range.

On top of it, Ioniq 5 Elite comes with a 20-inch rim which makes the distance slightly drop to 530 km, with a tag of 81,200 US dollars (equivalent to Rp1.3 billion). Meanwhile, Ioniq 5 N Premium lines carry dual AWD motorcycles, reach of 495 km, and prices ranging from 91,700 US dollars (equivalent to Rp1.5 billion).

In terms of performance, the single motor variant produces 168 kW/350 Nm, while the N Line Premium presents a combined power of 239 kW/605 Nm from the setup of the motorbike in front of 74 kW and the motorbike behind 165 kW. The digital rear mirror option that had stolen attention in the early generation has now also been eliminated.

The peak performance model of Ioniq 5N remains an icon in the ranks, selling from US$115,000. The 2026 update brings a number of new features such as touch feedback at steering, smart forward light technology, to auto-down functions across windows.

Sunroof, which was previously optional, is now standard. This supercar retains 448 kW/740 Nm wild power, with a boost mode of up to 478 kW/770 Nm, although the range is quite short at 448 km.

Hyundai helped enrich Ioniq 5 2026 with Digital Key 2.0 technology which is integrated with BlueLink services. This feature allows users to open and turn on cars using smartphones or smartwatches through NFC or UWB technology.

Access can be shared up to 15 other devices, even while the phone battery is running low.

With the simplification of lines, technological improvement, and focus on large-capacity batteries, Hyundai emphasized its strategic steps to keep Ioniq 5 competitive in the increasingly tight electric vehicle market.
